In Between Important Generations
Hello!
This is my very first blog, as many of you will see probably on how this will be published. I have chosen the name Philomath, which means a person who loves to learn, as it describes myself now. Before, i have always believed that you'll learn everything in school. Only to find out that the foundations taught were a small speck compared to what life can teach. I suppose we're on the same page on that. More than three decades passed and it struck me that there is so much to learn in the world, and nobody can stop anyone from learning. Just like this "blogging adventure", this is something new to me. I must admit that it gives me all the creeps how will this turn out. but hell, there's something i'll learn here for sure.
So, what's a 36-year old doing here blogging?
I started this blog with 4 reasons:
I was born in the middle of the transitioning generation, from Gen X to Millennial, leaning on the side of being a Millenial. Funny how it sounds, I am over 3 decades old, and a millennial. It must be safe to say that I am lucky to be in between, understanding both worlds.
Do you know how to use a floppy disk? Or do you know what that is?
Have you heard about the diskette? the Walkman? The Atari? Do you know how to protect a cassette tape from being recorded? (What's a cassette tape, you ask?)
All of these great technologies back then unraveled right in front of me - before the birth of the smart phone, smart watch, smart glasses, and the app controlled fridge. (wait, that's passe already? Damn.)
Not only technologies define the difference between the two generations. People's mentality has also greatly changed. Gen X's are well balanced people. They are independent, highly educated, fun, and persevering; to say the least of their many characteristics. On the other hand, the Millennials are extremely fun, they easily get bored of monotony. they want things, and they want it now! nope, not tomorrow, but now. they are absolutely competitive and won't take second place. Millennials take tons, after tons of selfies too!
Both are great as a generation, and there will be more generations in the future. What do you think the next generation be? what would their behavior be? what would be the most unimaginable technologies offered? Isn't it pretty exciting and scary at the same time?
What generation are you in? Let everyone know including your characteristic!

I started this blog with 4 reasons:
- Be able to express myself freely.
- Let out hidden thoughts and emotions.
- Improve my writing skills.
- People can express freely too on topics posted, which I would learn something from them also.
